"I need your opinion like I need a hole in my butt" isn't a saying. But it totally should be.

STUFF WE LIKE TO THINK ABOUT

The rules: use proper grammar (or tell us if you're learning English), make intelligent, thoughtful comments, and don't be a dick.
POLITICS

One must emulate both the fox and the lion, because a lion cannot defy a snare, while a fox cannot defy a pack of wolves. ……. Niccolò Machiavelli

CULTURE

Be the change you want to see in the World Gandhi

Philosophy

The Unexamined self isn’t worth living. Socrates

APOLOGETICS

“If there is a God, it’s going to be a whole lot bigger and a whole lot more incomprehensible than anything that any theologian of any religion has ever proposed.” Richard Dawkins “No shit.” Think Again, America

ECONOMICS

“To feel much for others and little for ourselves; to restrain our selfishness and exercise our benevolent affections, constitute the perfection of human nature.” Adam Smith

Science

And Religion, Too!

“Islam teaches tolerance, not hatred; universal brotherhood, not enmity; peace, and not violence.” ― Parwez Musharraf

REASON. NOT RHETORIC

Rhetoric isn't a bad thing. In fact, it's fundamentally necessary to the progression of thought. Competing ideas require opponents to give their BEST defense. But when we use rhetoric to defend our egos and preferred truth, we fail to serve reason and higher truth. The objective of this blog is to be objective. Though our desires will always play into our logic, we aim to surrender ourselves to reason, above all else, in order to best serve the modern world.
